Mexican food in London, was for years, a pretty bleak list of options. As of 2006, the amount of places you could easily get a good burrito were under 10 venues for a city of 7+ million people. Mexican food enthusiasts, both British & expat, were forced to trade furtive recommendations, hoping to find quality places near their offices and homes. Questions regarding where to get London based Mexican food led to a variety of useful blogs & discussion boards tackling the question, “does London have any Mexican food?”

DuBose Cole
DuBose founded Burrito Radar in Summer 2010, as a way to combine learning more about PHP, HTML & CSS with his love of Mexican food. Growing up in Birmingham, Alabama, he developed a love for Mexican food through the variety of options in the area. Be it Taco Bell & Taco Casa’s fast food, chain restaurants or locally owned & run options, DuBose managed to have a Mexican meal at least once a week for most of his adult life. Moving to London in 2008 for graduate school, DuBose found the amount of Mexican options a far cry from back home. After finishing school and staying in London for work, DuBose was pleased to see that Mexican food has finally hit the city. Whether it is a work-lunch burrito at Chilango or Mas Burritos, afterwork tacos at Chipotle or a pre/post pub meal at Benito’s Hat, DuBose is finally enjoying watching the city catch up to his hometown in one of the few areas they led.
